Preventive Dentistry

Patients are informed about oral hygiene education and how to brush their teeth. Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of dental and facial irregularities. The main purpose of orthodontics is to prevent the formation of disorders related to the teeth, jaw and face area, and to eliminate the existing disorders by treating them. However, it is to provide good aesthetics and function (biting, chewing, speaking, laughing). In addition to providing a healthier mouth and a more pleasant appearance, orthodontic treatment helps teeth to stay healthy and straight for a lifetime. Crooked teeth are more difficult to clean with tooth brushing. Poor closure can cause abrasions on the tooth surfaces, difficulties in functions such as chewing and speaking, and excessive stress on the bone and gingival structures that support the teeth. If left untreated, many problems may become more serious over time, resulting in more complex and difficult treatment requirements in the future.
Gum Diseases

Healthy gingiva is light pink in color, matte and has a hard consistency. It ends on the tooth surface like a knife edge and does not bleed during brushing. Gum disease is a biofilm layer consisting of light yellow, soft, sticky, difficult to remove, colonized bacteria that mostly forms on the teeth. As a result of the chemical substances secreted by the bacteria in the plaque damage the gums and the bone under the gum, diseases called gingivitis, and at a more advanced stage, periodontitis occur. At this point, if the patient neglects, over time, the jaw bones surrounding the tooth roots retract due to gingival recession and tooth loss occurs.

Implantology

Implants are artificial tooth roots placed in the jaw bones and superstructures built on them to replace the lost teeth. The lack of teeth of patients who have lost their natural teeth due to trauma (bump, impact), gum disease, caries, etc. can be eliminated by placing titanium or ceramic-based artificial roots in the jaw bones that are sufficient in terms of thickness and density. In order to regain lost function and aesthetics, crown, bridge or removable prosthesis applications can be made on dental implants, thus increasing the patient's quality of life.

Especially in cases where aesthetics is at the forefront, they are preferred tooth-colored restorations. They can be applied without the need for excessive material loss from the tooth due to their connection properties with the tooth. It is enough just to clean the caries. Composite fillings are placed in the tooth cavity cleaned from caries in layers and each layer is hardened with a special light. Composite fillings are shaped and corrected according to the tooth during the process.

A type of crown prosthesis that restores the loss of material in the teeth due to factors such as root canal treatment, caries and trauma, in a way that completes only the missing parts of the tooth, in simpler terms, it is made of composite or porcelain prepared in the laboratory.It is a kind of filling. Their advantages are: being aesthetic, long-lasting, protecting the remaining healthy tooth tissue, minimal risk of edge leakage and caries formation, biological compatibility, no allergic reaction, and low bacterial plaque uptake.

Canal Treatment

It is a treatment method used to repair, relieve and save (prevent loss) a severely decayed and infected tooth. When the decay progresses to the nerve chamber (pulp) in the teeth over time, a constant pain occurs in the tooth. When the aching tooth is neglected for a long time, the infection spreads to the surrounding tissues and the tooth may be lost.
Canal treatment is performed in a single session or in two sessions, depending on the condition of the tooth. The number of sessions can be increased according to the situation. The first step in root canal treatment is to take an X-ray to see the shape of the root canals and detect any signs of infection in the surrounding bone.

Teeth in the mouth can be single-rooted (anterior teeth), two-rooted (premolars), and three-rooted (molars). Sometimes there may be too many roots due to anatomical differences.

Due to the progression of the caries, root canal treatment may not be a choice but a necessity.

Orthognathic surgery is a surgical method that helps to correct deformities of the jaws. It is a technique needed when the jaws are not compatible with each other or when the teeth are not compatible with the jaws. In this treatment, the orthodontist and the surgeon work together. Teeth are corrected orthodontically and jaws are corrected surgically. These processes not only improve the facial appearance, but also ensure the harmony and proper functioning of the teeth.
