Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology
Atakent Health Group Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology department provides service in our hospital.
Infectious Diseases, formerly known as "intany", is the field of expertise dealing with the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of diseases caused by microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites) in our body in people over the age of 16.
As a result of advances in diagnostic methods and the use of new antimicrobial drugs, many infectious diseases can be diagnosed and treated. Tests for the detection of disease-causing microorganisms are carried out in the microbiology laboratory, which is the diagnostic part of the department.
Another task of the Infectious Diseases Department is; to control and monitor hospital infections and to do the necessary work to minimize these infections. Moreover; to provide trainings on this subject to the patient, their relatives and related personnel.
The conscious, appropriate and effective use of antibiotics in infection control studies also has a special place.
